Most prompts designed to make AI content undetectable simply don’t work.

For example, if you have:

  • AI generated blog post on “AI for blogging”
  • Ask ChatGPT to “Humanize the blog post content to make it undetectable by Al detectors”
  • Then run it through an AI detection tool like Originality.ai, it still gets flagged as AI-generated.

Why??

So, is there a better way?

Let’s dive into it.

Understand how ChatGPT works

To humanize AI content effectively, you first need to understand how generative AI, like ChatGPT, works.

When AI generates content, it predicts one word at a time to form complete sentences and paragraphs.

gpt prediction
GPT predicts one word at a time based on probability.

Think of it like your keyboard’s auto-complete feature, where the next word is chosen based on how often certain word combinations are used in English.

AI detection tools work by identifying these predictable patterns in word placement.

So, when you ask ChatGPT to humanize content, you’re essentially asking it to work against its nature.

Yes, there are some prompts that might fool AI detectors temporarily, but as these tools evolve, new updates will continue to detect AI-generated content.

It’s a cat-and-mouse game.

But what’s the long-term solution to truly humanizing AI content?

Let me explain my workflow.

What it truly means to humanize content?

Many people assume that “humanizing” AI-generated content simply means making it undetectable by AI detection tools.

However, humanizing content is much more than bypassing detection; it’s about creating content that resonates with real readers, making it enjoyable, relatable, and impactful.

Undetectable AI content might pass tools, but if it lacks a human touch, it can still feel robotic and uninspired to readers.

On the other hand, truly humanized content captivates by sounding authentic, incorporating genuine examples, anecdotes, and a tone that aligns with the writer’s personality.

👉 Instead of worrying about detection, focus on enriching your content to make it more readable and meaningful for actual people; in the long run, that’s what makes content valuable.

My workflow

When generating content with ChatGPT, I make sure to add my original insights to ensure the content is unique.

Once I get a draft from the AI, I use a mega prompt to enhance the human quality of the content.

Context: You are working with a content or copy that feels overly robotic, promotional, or generic, featuring repetitive sentence structures and complex words. The current content lacks natural variation in complexity and sentence structure, making it easily detectable as AI-generated.

Action: Your task is to rewrite this content to sound more human, engaging, and natural. The writing should feel like a human crafted it, with natural fluctuations in sentence style while maintaining clarity, coherence, and relevance.

Specifications:
In the rewritten content, aim for:

Perplexity:
Introduce a balance of complexity in sentence structures, mixing longer, more intricate sentences with shorter, punchier ones.

Burstiness:
Vary sentence lengths and styles, creating a more human-like rhythm to the text.

Rhetorics:
- Use rhetorical fragments, analogies, and examples to engage the reader.
- Include personal anecdotes or insights to make the content feel authentic.

Simple Vocabulary:
- Opt for everyday language, avoiding jargon or complex terminology.

Readability:
- Use formatting like bold, italics, bullet points, and short paragraphs to improve clarity.

Avoid AI Tone:
- Avoid robotic or overly promotional phrases.
- Exclude hype-driven words like "revolutionize" or "game-changing."

Here’s how it works:

  1. Context: I let ChatGPT know that the content it produced sounds robotic and lacks the natural variations seen in human writing, which makes it easily detectable by AI detection tools.
  2. Action: I ask it to rewrite the content to sound more human, adding in natural variations, changes in sentence structure, and style while maintaining clarity, coherence, and relevance.
  3. Specifications: I ask for a mix of sentence lengths, styles, and include analogies, anecdotes, and examples to make the content more engaging and authentic. Simplicity and readability are key here.

The goal is to make the content sound like something a human would naturally write, not a machine generating predictions one word at a time.

👉 Alternatively, you can create a custom ChatGPT Bot trained on your past writing to better match your style.

Detection doesn’t matter

Now, let me make this clear: The real focus shouldn’t be on whether AI can detect your content, but whether the content is enjoyable for humans to read.

If you’re a blogger, especially concerned about SEO, here’s what you need to know:

Gary Illyes

Google’s search analyst, Gary Illyes, said it’s not about whether AI wrote the content—it’s about whether it’s high quality.

As long as your content reflects your own insights, perspectives, and experiences, you’ll be fine.

The key is not to rely on AI to completely write your content but to use it as a tool.

👍 Add your original thoughts, then let the AI help you shape those thoughts into clear sentences and paragraphs.

Still, if you want – AI Humanizer

But, sometimes you just need your content to be AI-undetectable.

In that case, you can use AI humanizer tools.

Humanize AI

For instance, Humanize AI’s humanizer has a feature to make AI-generated content more human-like.

After using such tools, you can paste your content back into a detection tool like Originality.ai.

Originality AI

You’ll likely see a lighter AI detection score, although results may vary.

Other options include manually tweaking the content—adding stylistic or grammar errors, mixing up sentence flow, or even throwing in the occasional emoji for good measure.

But ask yourself, is it really worth it?

👉 Because in most cases, as long as your content is infused with your own original thoughts, it won’t matter if it’s AI-generated or not.
