So, you want to start a successful podcast? Read this snackable Kajabi Podcasts review before you choose your next podcast platform.

For 3 to 4 years, I’ve been creating digital products with Kajabi. So, if you’re looking for a hands-on review of Kajabi Podcasts, you’ve come to the right place.

Here’s what you need to know before committing your time, money, and effort into creating and publishing podcasts on Kajabi.

First, a quick background.

What is Kajabi?

Kajabi is an all-in-one platform for online business owners. It provides most of the tools you will need to start, grow, and scale your digital products business.

A few of Kajabi’s top features include podcast management software, advanced email marketing, online course creation (including assessments), free and paid memberships, creating communities, offering 1-on-1 coaching, running an affiliate marketing program, and building solid sales funnels. But does this all-in-one approach diminish Kajabi’s podcasts?

And, can Kajabi compete with dedicated podcast platforms such as BuzzSprout and Spreaker for creating and publishing podcasts?

What are the things that you will be compromising on? Are these uncompromisables even?

Let’s see.

Here are details about Kajabi podcast features so you can decide for yourself.

What do I like about Kajabi podcasts?

The Kajabi podcast management software offers the following capabilities.

Create and publish unlimited podcast episodes

You are free to publish as many episodes as you want at no additional cost. Yes, your Kajabi subscription covers the cost of creating a single podcast product with multiple episodes.

Something else. You can create the podcast elsewhere and quickly import it by adding your RSS feed URL.

Distribute episodes to major podcasting platforms.

These alternatives to Kajabi Podcast also publish your episodes to the likes of Deezer, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, and Podchaser. Then again, most of your listeners already use at least one of the three major platforms for audio streaming anyway, so Kajabi’s distribution channels should suffice.

Monetize your Kajabi podcast episodes

Kajabi lets you publish free and paid podcasts (called Private Podcasts).

Just create the podcast as a product (attach it to an offer and add a price), enter payment gateway details, and start collecting payments for episode downloads.

You can attach Podcast access to a Offer and upsell it

In addition, you can charge for podcast replays, allowing you to earn recurring income.

This is a significant advantage because Kajabi, being an all-in-one platform, allows you to sell different types of products. It also recognizes podcasts as a product and enables you to upsell or cross-sell access to any of your podcasts as part of your offerings.

But to take it further, it does not allow you to place programmatic dynamic ads in the same way that alternatives do, but you can run mention ads for partners you work with. Or, you can promote your own products and services.

Kajabi’s other features enrich its podcast feature

This is where I feel hosting podcasts on Kajabi beats the competition. You’ll get more than just podcast features:

  • Besides podcasting, you can create multiple income streams using Kajabi’s variety of full-featured capabilities.
  • Make sure your branding is consistent across your website, blog, courses, digital product, and podcast — from design to CRM and email messaging – for instant recognition and boosting trust.
  • Increase audience engagement across channels by combining podcasting with blogging (whichever will convert best, right?).
  • Promote your podcast episodes, digital products, and services with Kajabi’s robust email marketing and marketing automation features.
  • Nurture hesitant buyers or casual listeners to loyal and paying subscribers with Kajabi’s advanced sales pipelines.
  • Share exclusive content with your podcast subscribers; combine your podcast audio with blog posts, community posts, and paid memberships (improving engagement and recurring revenue growth). Kajabi recently acquired Vibely to provide meetups, badges, and other gamification features.
  • Easily integrate your podcast content with 1-on-1 live training sessions, webinars, and group trainings.
  • Have your Kajabi Podcast page indexed by search engines for SEO and improving your visibility online .
  • Kajabi also offers detailed podcast analytics. A single Kajabi subscription also gives you the option to use and compare your podcast performance with other marketing strategies, such as email marketing, webinar hosting, blogging, and affiliate marketing.

What I don’t like about Kajabi Podcasts? 👎

  • There is no way to embed your podcast and player on an external website, such as a WordPress website, although you can embed an external player, such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
  • Each episode must be under 250 MB in size and in MP3 format.
  • It doesn’t automatically sync the latest podcast episode to appear first on your website or landing page.
  • There is no sponsorship marketplace, but you can work directly with sponsors (which may or may not be your cup of tea).
  • As with Spreaker, Kajabi requires you to upload your own transcripts if you want your episodes to be more inclusive and accessible. BuzzSprout’s Cohost AI can automatically transcribe your podcasts for a fee (you can edit them, too).
  • Although you cannot convert a Kajabi public podcast to a private podcast (and vice versa), you can earn recurring revenue from podcast audio and webinar replays. Likewise, you cannot replace an existing episode audio file, as you can with Spreaker.
  • Your listers can listen to your private podcast online using a smartphone, but not through Kajabi’s mobile app.

Review on pricing

In my experience, this is a whole lot of value to have with a single Kajabi subscription. If you are just getting started, Kajabi Basic is an excellent choice. It costs $149/month for three products.

To give you an example, you might offer a paid podcast product (with unlimited episodes), a course product, or a 1-on-1 training product for that fee.

For comparison, consider Kajabi podcast’ competitors, such as Spreaker. It costs $50/month or $250/month to reach the same level of functionality as Kajabi. This is just for podcast hosting. Take a look at this:

Kajabi Podcasts review: Verdict

So, is a Kajabi Podcast worth it? And is Kajabi a good podcast hosting platform?

As I promised earlier, I’ll leave that decision to you.

Kajabi is an all-in-one tool. All its features interplay well with each other leading to the emergence of new possibilities. In my experience, it covers the basics if you’re using podcasts as part of a larger business.

In addition, you could use Zapier to integrate your favorite podcast platform with Kajabi or redirect your RSS feed link.

But if you require a more feature-rich specialist platform for podcasts, then it would disappoint you. Well, let’s try again.

In contrast, if you are a beginner who needs to host a simple podcast, must use multiple distribution channels, and are on a tight budget, you can look into alternatives to Kajabi Podcast, like, BuzzSprout, Spreaker, and Podbean. And that’s about it!

Do you have substantial experience creating and publishing on Kajabi Podcasts? Are you happy with the level of service you’re getting (compared to using a dedicated podcast hosting service today)? We’d love to hear from you in the comments section.
