If you’re looking for an all-in-one platform that manages your business without stressing about integrations and monthly payments of your stock, then read on.
In this post, we’ll be reviewing GrooveFunnels, a new software built with the philosophy of “simplicity”. We are presenting this review after researching in depth.
We’ll talk about the founder, the team behind it, their vision, and how reliable it is.
You’ll also learn when you can use it and how it compares to top-notch companies like ClickFunnels or Kartra.
Let’s get started!
All-in-one marketing tool
Is a free plan available?
Yes, it’s called the Base Plan but it’s limited to only 3 of the apps.
GrooveFunnels is a suite of marketing tools for selling online products. Everything you need to get your business up and running is available with this software.
You can build sales funnels, websites, landing pages, have your online store, manage your sales, create affiliate programs, etc.
Even though not all of them are available at the moment as of writing this post, these are the solutions they provide:
GroovePages: This is one of the main products that allows you to build websites, funnels, and landing pages with drag and drop features.
GrooveAffiliate: An affiliate program to earn commissions if you recommend the software but also integrated with GrooveSell so you can assign affiliates to your own products as well.
GrooveMail: It’s a CRM and email marketing and automation tool that lets you have 25,000 contacts and unlimited sending.
GrooveMember: It’s a membership platform where you can create your online courses, give your users access through a member’s area with different levels, and no commission per sale.
GrooveVideo: Allows you to stream, personalize your videos, and have detailed analytics for them too.
GroovePages for Shopify: Create and design pages for Shopify but with all of the tools and facilities GroovePages provides.
GrooveKart: This is an eCommerce platform where you can build from scratch your online store or import your existing one from Shopify or other providers.
GrooveWebinars: You can host both live and automated webinars that integrate with all of your pages, cart, and funnels.
GrooveBlog: Create your own personal blog or for your business with a simple CMS without WordPress and with fully customizable opportunities due to its integration with GroovePages.
GrooveDesk: A tool for managing the technical support of your business where you can solve tickets, answer inquiries, and provide general assistance to your customers.
GrooveCalendar: A built-in alternative to Calendy for scheduling your meetings, events, calls, and checking your availability. For example, you can set up a system to book appointments and link it to GrooveMail so that you can send email sequences.
GrooveSurvey & GrooveQuiz: With these two apps, you can create questionnaires, surveys, quizzes to get more data about your customers like emails and store them directly on GrooveMail.
GrooveMarketplace: This is the place where you can find products from the company, other users and even affiliates can upload theirs too.
- You can have lifetime access to the product, however as of writing this blog we’re not pretty sure when the monthly pricing mode will be available.
- No credit card required to use the free version.
- All of the GrooveFunnels apps natively integrate with each other.
- Provides API and SDK for developers so they can create plug-ins, extensions, and apps that integrate with the platform.
- No coding knowledge required to use the tools.
- You can find resources to learn more about the platform on GrooveAcademy
- 20% of commission earnings with affiliates, up to 40% if you buy the lifetime deal.
- The team behind GrooveFunnels is pretty solid with folks at lead positions at Kartra, WebinarJam, PayDotCom, PrestaShop, and much more coming together.
- You can’t use your own domain with the free version.
- Still in beta so there are bugs, but the development team is all ears. Even they have a feature request board that’s actively updated.
- Lifetime deal can be expensive if you’re on a tight budget.
- It has a learning curve due to many apps.
Let’s admit this.
GrooveFunnels is a new product, and before investing in it you need to take a look at their team like you do with value investments.
The vision of GrooveFunnels is to become a reference in the digital marketing industry by providing the most helpful, affordable, reliable, and easy to use platform.
Some of the well-known players in the SaaS space have come together for GrooveFunnels.
Mike is a software developer and one of the most successful marketers.
He has earned millions of dollars from his products and he’s the co-founder of other well-known softwares like Kartra, WebinarJam, EverWebinar, PayDotCom, and much more.
John has specialized and positioned over the years in the eCommerce industry. He has earned recognition as one of the top marketers in this field.
Back in 2018 before GrooveFunnels with his knowledge and experience, he created GrooveKart in partnership with Mike Filsaime.
Matt has around 10 years of experience in managing executive operations. His expertise in e-commerce and supply chain management led him to be the COO at PrestaShop, one of the most powerful open-source e-commerce platforms.
He negotiated and secured partnership agreements with giant companies like Google, Stripe, PayPal to name a few.
He’s a software developer and one of the co-founders at Groove Digital. Matt has experience launching software products for more than a decade.
His work has always been directly related to marketers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
One thing I really look into while buying any product is – “How open are they to suggestions and speed of implementation of features?”.
You definitely don’t need a team that closes their ears for new feature requests, and those that don’t evolve.
I must say that by looking at their feature requests and roadmaps page, I was amazed. They have dedicated boards for each of their apps for feature requests, bug reporting, and also a roadmap.
They’re in for the long run!
These guys definitely know what they’re doing. They’ve already done a great job at Groove Digital which is the parent company of the Groove brands.
And there’s no doubt they’ll keep that quality with GrooveFunnels with their diverse experience in top-notch products in all spaces.
The most remarkable thing about GroovePages is that it’s very user-friendly. Its visual drag-and-drop editor is way better in comparison to ClickFunnels and Kartra.
GroovePages’ loading speed is the winner as well because its code is loaded on the browser so it doesn’t make requests to a database.
This is the first thing you’re going to find when you log in, a workspace that looks very clean and organized.
Then, it’ll let you choose whether to use a blank or a pre-customized template. A key fact you should know is that it has reporting, split testing, and mobile-first indexing.
Other cool things about the templates are that they show you suggestions not only for the type of page you want to build but also for the type of industry or business you want it.
Here you can see that there are landing pages for supplementation products, yoga, and a lead generation page for real estate. It’s really helpful if you’re a newbie.
Once you’ve selected your template, it’s time for customization. On the left side, you can add designed or wireframe blocks, pages, and elements by dragging and dropping them.
And if you’re an expert who wants to take customization to the next level, you can enable the source code editing and modify it as you like, something that not all landing page builders allow.
The source code editor feature can be an extreme productivity booster for searching and replacing the code (if you are a power user, use REGEX search-replace) to quickly tweak the page.
It’s surprising that they’ve added this feature of transparency and even popular tools are not adding and resisting to add even after repeated requests.
With GrooveSell you can sell your products and keep all of your earnings because you won’t be charged any monthly fee or commission per transaction fee if you have the Platinum subscription.
Now… You may be wondering, but is this platform any different than ThriveCart and SamCart?
And yes, it is.
First, let’s talk about pricing. For now, you can save some money and get GrooveSell and GroovePages for FREE.
With ThriveCart you’d have to make a one-time payment of $495 and with Samcart you’d pay $49 monthly with the Launch plan (the cheapest).
GrooveSell lets your users take care of some operations like invoice downloading, changing credit card info, and refund transactions. All of these options are available with the Lite version.
GrooveFunnels supports PayPal, Stripe, Merchant Account, Braintree, AuthNet, and NMI.
You can add order bumps, one-click upsells, and downsells which can benefit both your customers by improving their UX and yourself by increasing your conversion rates.
The platform guides you step by step to create your funnel so you don’t have to worry if you’re a beginner, it explains each function easily.
To increase your conversion rate, GrooveSell lets you use this cool proof widget feature.
This is a popup that displays on your website showing the interactions others are having with your product so the users who see it can feel more confident about your offer.
This is a really cool feature and gets you rid of using tools like UseProof for displaying real-time social proofs.
Another cool feature you can enable or disable from this panel among all the others is the “cancel subscription” option which is very helpful.
For example, if someone pays you with PayPal, to cancel the subscription normally they would have to do it directly from PayPal. With this option, they can do it from the platform.
The beta version was released days ago (September 15th). When you’re selling a digital product or running a business in general, you care about email analytics and GrooveMail makes it easy for you.
It lets you track deliverability rates, open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
You can segment leads on your database and tag them to create email sequences.
Right now you might find in the market some apps that let you do email marketing but lack automation tools or completely the opposite, they’re great at automation but they lack marketing features. With GrooveMail you’ll be able to manage all of that.
Similar to Kartra, depending on how your customers interact with your page you can send specific triggered emails thanks to the behavioral targeting.
GrooveMail supports management for membership sites unlike MailChimp or ActiveCampaign, where you need to pay for external plug-ins. For email marketing, you can create lists to manage your leads as well as tags.
To organize your tags you can create multiple categories and then create segments for them.
For example, let’s say you have a newsletter but you also have an online course and you want to send an email only to the people who are enrolled in the course.
So you create a tag for the newsletter subscribers and another for the course students and then with the segment feature you include or exclude the tags. In this case, you would include the ones enrolled in the course.
Do you want to create an online course? GrooveMember has your back. You can design your membership platform that has a certification option built-in where you can issue certificates for your student.
But some of the best online course platforms like Teachable already allow me to do that, how do they differentiate?
Well, it does but is mainly focused on hosting and selling your courses. With GrooveMember, besides that, you can create a whole system with other GrooveFunnels apps.
For example with Teachable, people still make use of:
- Funnel tools like ClickFunnels or WordPress funnel builders.
- Email marketing tools like ClickFunnels, ActiveCampaign, etc.
- Also shopping cart softwares like ThriveCart or SamCart.
But as GrooveFunnels is all-in-one software, you don’t need more apps and worry about integrations.
Their GrooveMember has got the benefit of their platform-centric business model; all apps work together for the whole’s good.
This platform is similar to Vimeo and Wistia but you need to keep in mind something: It is not for creating videos but it is mainly for video hosting and marketing.
So that’s why you can use interesting tools such as tagging and CTA placement inside the video player.
For example, you can send the viewer an email after he’s watched a specific minute or display a pop-up form.
On Vimeo you get only 500MB per week, Wistia gives you 200GB but only for 3 videos. Using the free version of GrooveVideo you get up to 100GB of space for 15 videos connecting your Amazon S3 account.
Now let’s talk about privacy because you may be asking if there are any features to protect your content and prevent it from being downloaded without your permission and avoid piracy. Short answer: not yet.
However, there are many requests about it and we have to remember that these apps are still in beta, so they’ll probably provide a solution for this to make sure users are satisfied. It’s one of the most requested features in their feature requests.
To set up your affiliate system, first, you need to create your product funnel in GrooveSell as a front-end product, otherwise, you won’t see this option.
Another great option the platform gives you is to add “commission overrides” which allows you to give an extra fee to your selected existing affiliates. This could be a very good incentive to keep them promoting your products.
There are 2 affiliate programs:
For pro members where you get 40% tier 1 and 10% tier 2.
For free members who can get 20% tier 1 and 5% tier 2.
Here you can manage your affiliates and see your earnings. How many visitors your link generates, how many of those leads signed up, and how many sales are tracked.
These are all the promotional tools you can use to get more users on board.
A great solution about GrooveAffiliate is that they have something they call a “lifetime lock-in with parent/child hardcoded affiliate tagging”.
What this means is that when you refer someone, the system will tag them to you so you don’t have to worry about cookies being overwritten or them sign up from a different device.
If you manage clients through an agency then you may take advantage of all the apps this platform provides you.
The biggest benefit you get is the ability to have all of your clients in one platform and handle their content because you can get customized domains.
However, keep in mind that you don’t have sub-accounts so the best thing to do is to have each client create their own account if you don’t want to have their data in yours.
If you care too much about branding you need to know that GrooveFunnels doesn’t support white labeling at the moment but it’s been one of the most requested features.
If your main goal is selling courses then with GrooveFunnels you’re going to get great results combining all the tools to power your business.
The features include the ability to create pages, funnels, dedicated memberships sites, video, LMS, etc.
As it’s all managed from the same place it will help you to keep everything simple, yet organized and provide a professional product even if you have no experience.
You can create your own affiliate system and earn commissions using bonuses that might be relevant to the subject of your courses.
Maybe you’re thinking there are already platforms that let you do that like Thinkific or Teachable…
Sure, but one of the advantages you get with GrooveFunnels is to improve the conversion by using the funnels tool.
Another difference is GrooveFunnels don’t charge transaction fees, unlike Teachable that takes a $1 + 10% transaction fee on their free plan and 5% on the basic plan.
Teachable has an iOS app with useful features like offline viewing which isn’t supported on mobile browsers. But even though GrooveFunnels doesn’t, GrooveFunnels is fully responsive and stands out in loading speed.
For eCommerce only, GrooveFunnels might not be that powerful since it has no plug-ins like WooCommerce or Shopify, but let’s not forget about the API and SDK availability, so there are chances that they can come up with them later.
However, you can still set up your online store with GrooveKart that has everything built-in.
There are many people switching from ClickFunnels to GrooveFunnels for the irresistible lifetime deal. To use the whole ClickFunnels suite you need to make a $299 monthly payment but even so, you don’t get an all-in-one platform.
Kartra has no support for first-mobile indexing but GrooveFunnels does, this simple feature can allow you to be more successful in terms of SEO since Google now uses the mobile version for indexing and ranking.
But on the other side, one of the advantages Kartra has is BAM (behavioral adaptive marketing) which is not present in GrooveFunnels as of writing this blog post.
But as GrooveFunnels is by one of Kartra’s co-founders we can expect to have Kartra’s features in the near future.
Some prefer Builderall mostly because of the pricing that starts at $20/month, for that part, it’s really budget-friendly, but the UI is not as refined as GrooveFunnels.
Builderall seems like a jack of all trades because they offer a variety of tools that can be useful if you’re starting out but they’re very limited and don’t work as well as they should.
Even though GrooveFunnels aims to include automation tools, there’s no doubt that Kajabi excels in this field, it’s a master at powering your business with the best tools for automation.
But news is that you can integrate Kajabi with GrooveFunnels using Zapier.
As we’ve mentioned throughout the article, all of the GrooveFunnels apps integrate with each other, and that is amazing because there’s no need to include external software to make the essential work.
The only thing GrooveFunnels doesn’t have is a sales pipeline and they don’t plan to build it either, they consider that PipeDrive already does a great job with that and GrooveFunnels will integrate with it.
You can integrate GrooveFunnels with Zapier to get the most out of it with more than 2000 apps. You’ll be able to automate your forms, emails, follow-ups, sheets, CRM, and enable triggers.
You just need to set it up from your Zapier account, you can do it for free but it only allows 100 tasks per month.
You can get 14 days of premium features trial and then upgrade to a monthly plan that starts at $19.99 billed annually or $24.99 month to month.
You can see how much you can save by upgrading to the Lifetime Platinum deal. You can get it with different payment options.
The first one by paying in the full, second option is to pay $0 when you sign up and then 4 monthly payments of $497 starting in 14 days, then you have the alternative of 6 monthly payments of $388 starting when you sign up and the last one is 12 monthly payments of $249.
For the moment the lifetime deal will be available until the official launch that has no specific date yet. But there are rumors it’ll be October 6th, so if you’re interested you better hurry up.
Then there will be 4 plans to choose from:
- Base: It’s free and includes GrooveSell, GrooveAffiliate, GroovePages Lite, and only Affiliate Program 20%.
- Silver: This plan will be at $99/month and includes GrooveSell, GrooveAffiliate, GroovePages Pro, GrooveMember, GrooveVideo, GrooveMail, Email Leads, Email Cart Abandons, Email Buyers, Email Affiliates, and Affiliate Program 20%.
- Gold: For $199/month with this plan you get GrooveSell, GrooveAffiliate, GroovePages Pro, GrooveMember, GrooveVideo, GrooveMail, Email Leads, Email Cart Abandons, Email Buyers, Email Affiliates, GrooveBlog, GrooveDesk, GrooveCalendar, and Affiliate Program 20%.
- Platinum: You’ll get all of the GrooveFunnels apps for $299/month.
“Ambitious and a marketing game-changer”, a word and a phrase I would use if I had to describe GrooveFunnels. This company has a promising bright future and there are already facts that support that.
Just in a single day they collected over $1M on upgrade sales of the platinum lifetime membership, $1,736,356.00 was the exact amount and after a week over $2.75M.
This was just an internal launch, they didn’t collect a group of affiliate partners but only promoted this offer through their own ad network and to their existing members.
So if you’re always making moves into the marketing industry (creating, selling, promoting, teaching) this is a product definitely worth the investment. These numbers will keep growing and there’s no stopping them!
